The Experience of Awareness
When the mind becomes quiescent then stillness envelopes you. Here self conscious attentiveness of the mind is realized. There are ways or methods in which one can use that will help initiate some quiescence. Focusing on the breath, and listening to sound can help greatly. How to breathe or what sound to listen to is another discussion. The point being to use these methods to simply help if you're new to meditation or struggle with an overactive mind. So once this settles in, then it becomes easier to be more attentive. Fasting is also very helpful. So simply make this your practice, remember there isn't a goal, or something you're a trying to achieve. You're being guided into self conscious attentive being, which will bring the experience of awareness.
